Keystone Cowboy Church in Charlotte, North Carolina meets every Tuesday at the Rockin' K Ranch at 7:00pm. Come as you are. You don't
have to be a cowboy to attend! For driving directions go to

Welcome to the Blue Ridge Cowboy Church in Fletcher, NC. One of the most exciting churches anywhere. If you like the cowboy culture, you'll love the
cowboy church! You don't have to be a cowboy to attend. Most people who come to cowboy church don't even own a horse. They tell me they come
because they like the relaxed atmosphere where they can be themselves, whether they have a Harley, or a horse, wear boots or suits, are divorced or
married, it just doesn't matter. It is a place you can feel welcome and right at home. Most folks who check us out end up staying. So come on down, check
out the Blue Ridge Cowboy  Church, we believe you'll end up staying too! Every Tuesday evening at 7PM, at the WNC Ag Center  828-273-9635 or go to

1 -  Fox Farms is hosting a clinic with Nancy Tans.  She is a wonderful dressage instructor that has had years of experience training, showing and
teaching.  She is going to be doing private sessions on June 1st for any level rider, beginner through advanced.  We will be having lunch at 12, so even if
you don't want to ride that day, please come and watch.  We will also have a massage therapist from 11-1 pm that day to help us all get relaxed and in the
mood to learn!  It will be nice to have a person massage therapist for a change!  Here are Nancy's credentials...

* I've trained regularly with Cindy Sydnor for +/- 25 years (and still am)
* I've trained (my horses), ridden and shown through 4th level
* I've taught regularly for +/- 12 years

My focus in training and teaching is the classical dressage training scale,
which I have never known to fail to improve any horse. My main area of
interest is that group of people that are amateur owners or kids who pursue
dressage on a less intense level than those that compete at the top level of
the sport with very expensive horses. It's my belief that good basic (up
through 3rd level) classical dressage is the basis of all good riding
(whatever the disciple) and certainly makes our horses stronger, happier
athletes and better partners.

She is very conservative in her approach, with lots of fun exercises and things that you will be able to take home to work on by yourself.  She will not push
you beyond what you and your horse are capable of.  Nancy is really a great find.

If you are interested in joining us for this clinic, please e-mail me or call me at (704)243-2173  or (704)577-8444.  Please let me know if you will be
attending our lunch.
Sessions will be 1 hour for $60 a person.
1 -  Introduction to Showing by Union County Saddle Club
The Clinic will be held Sunday, June 1st at 2 PM and is aimed towards first time show participants or new to the show ring that need some help with proper
attire, your horse’s turnout, and ring etiquette, to name a few.  For further information on the clinic, contact either Erin Desloge at 704-840-4232 or
Debbie Hollowell at 704-219-2276.
Following the clinic, we invite everyone to stick around for our monthly meeting at 4 PM which is open to the public – topics will include (but not limited to)
fundraising ideas for a new show office, new clinics in the works, and an update on a group trail ride TENTATIVELY scheduled for Sunday, June 29th,
location TBA.  This is YOUR club, and we want your input!
Immediately following the meeting, we will be hosting a cookout in conjunction with our first Membership Drive .  Come and have some fun with your fellow
members and competitors – no pie throwing allowed!  Find out the benefits of becoming not just a member but an Active Member of the Union County
Saddle Club!
3 - 4-H Horse Judging Clinic, Stokes County. Contact Teri Bost, 336.593.8179.
5- 8 - Four Day Driving Clinic: May 1-4, June 5-8 (Contact Fred Scott for Bundoran Clinics, 434-295-4188)
Held at beautiful Bundoran Farm near Charlottesville, Virginia. Drive single, pairs, tandem, 3-abreast, unicorn, four-in-hand. Open to beginning or more
advanced drivers. Both draft and light horses provided. Instructors: Fred Scott and Pam Umberger
6-8 - Brent Graef Clinic in June at Chetola Farms. This is Brent's third year to the area and participants from Georgia and Michigan have driven to
attend.
Both the foundation and advancing classes are limited to 12 and registrations are already coming in.  Instructors/trainers may be interested in bringing
students and attending together. Last year an area trainer and her student shared the student's horse and rode both morning and afternoon sessions so
they could work together on developing her horse.

Other area instructors and trainers attended to improve their own teaching skills, both by participating and by auditing.

Individuals that want to improve or advance their own skills attend and open up new possibilities for their horse and rider relationship. Last year I attended
with a horse I found frustrating and was thinking of selling; this clinic changed everything between us and now, I'm not sure I would sell him for anything. Of
course, I did most of the changing and quit frustrating my horse. But you don't have to have a bad relationship with your horse to benefit.

Anyone interested in or working with horses might enjoy this clinic.

Check out Brent's website at
www.BrentGraef.com for more information.
7 - Fox Farms is hosting a clinic with Leslie Cline.  She is a USDF silver medalist that owns her own training barn in Weddington.  She is an
experienced trainer and rider that is currently working on becoming a judge, also.  She has a unique perspective on what you need to do in the show ring
to be the best that you can be.  You know that we all throw away a lot of points in those dressage tests!  She can help you focus in on some of the things
that will make your scores higher and make you a better rider.  She is also conservative in her approach, but you will not leave her feeling that you didn't
accomplish anything, either.  She will really help you get the most out of your horse and yourself in a fun and relaxed way.  You'll love her!

If you are interested in joining us for the Leslie Cline Clinic, please e-mail me or call me at (704)243-2173 or (704)577-8444.  Please let me know if you
will be attending lunch.
Sessions will be 1 hour for $55 a person.
